Berney is a beautiful big boy who greeted the volunteer on the stairs with a a waggy tail and a good sniff. The volunteer was reliably informed that he does bark at the door and the doorbell and usually a couple of barks and a sniff when the door is opened.
Once inside Berney said hello again and then went and lay down with his squeaky ball. He came when called, sat, lay down and played dead and took treats very gently. He has his basic commands and is a big sook and enjoys playing with his ball.
For a large lad he is extremely delicate in the house though he has been known on occasion to raid the bins.
Berney has never lived with children so would be best homed either with adults or older children.
Outside Berney is walked on a head collar and walks well on it, he pulls like a train without it. On meeting other dogs outside he reared up and was barking at them, though his tail was constantly wagging. His manners would need to be worked on in his new home. Though Berney has, for short periods, lived with other dogs he would be
best suited to being an only dog.
He is being rehomed through no fault of his own as his current owners feel that are not able to give him as much time as he requires due to increased working hours.
Berney would be a welcome addition to any household, will it be yours?
