Cooper

Cooper is a tall and good-looking young man who is not yet 2 and still has some filling out to do. He has a glossy black and tan short coat. He is happy to welcome visitors to his home but does get over-excited and jumps up.

Cooper went to puppy classes and knows all his basic commands, while he can walk nicely in that controlled environment it does not translate in the real world, and he pulls very strongly at the start of a walk. New owners would need the strength to hold him, and the experience to teach him to control his excitement and walk on a loose leash.

Cooper is neutral to people he sees outside and not bothered by buggies, bikes or traffic. He is interested in other dogs but not fearful or aggressive. If they ignore him, he will walk past without reaction but will rear up and bark if the other dog barks or stares.

Cooper is fully house-trained. He can be left for short periods and does not damage house or furniture although he has been known to steal and chew small items left lying around. He is not possessive about food or toys. Cooper has not travelled much; he goes into the car reluctantly and tends to whine for the duration of the journey.

Cooper is being reluctantly rehomed because of a change in his owner’s circumstances. He is currently sharing a house with a small older dog and does not enjoy sharing the attention so would probably be better as an only dog. He has never lived with children but has been fine with visitors and those me meets outside.

New owners would need to have the time and experience to continue Cooper’s training as he matures, and to commit to having him neutered once he is old enough
