Sapphire is a 5yo entire female who is being reluctantly rehomed due to her owner’s deteriorating health.
Sapphire lives with children and teenagers and is very gentle around them. She lives happily with another dog.
She is crate trained and travels well in the car.
Sapphire can be excitable .When our volunteer arrived she was in her crate barking very animatedly and straining to get over to her. She also barks a lot when people come to the door. Further training will help with this.
When allowed out of her crate, Sapphire greeted her visitor very gently and checked her out thoroughly by sniffing, before lying down quietly with her favourite chew for the rest of the visit.
She can, however, chew inappropriate things, particularly wooden chair/table legs etc so is crated when left unsupervised.
She can lunge and bark excitedly at other dogs when on a walk but ignores them if she is carrying a ball.
Sapphire has attended some training and is quick to learn new things.
