Max is a handsome young man (1 year old) with a glossy black and tan semi coat. He has been attending training classes and knows basic commands but is still very prone to jumping up.
Max is wary of strangers but has never shown any aggression. He has almost no experience of visitors to his home other than family members and has never been around children. He gets very anxious when he goes to the vet.
Max has been to doggy day care, also boarding, where he gets on well with other dogs and the people there. On a walk, he will lie down if he sees a dog and wait until they have gone past or turned away. He will only bark if the other dog barks at him. He is sometimes anxious about people, particularly men, coming towards him but can be distracted with treats.
Max is fully house-trained. He can be left for short periods; he is
crate trained because of puppy chewing but more recently has been left to roam without any problems. Max loves to play with soft toys and to chase a ball but he is not possessive about food or toys. He loves to go in the car especially when it takes him somewhere that he can go for a swim.
Max is being rehomed because of a change in his familys circumstances. New owners would need to have the time and experience to continue his training, especially around keeping all four paws on the ground, as he matures.
He will need careful socialization to help him become more confident around people he does not know. The rescue also requires new owners to commit to having him neutered once he is old enough.
