Having kept German Shepherds for over twenty years from both rescue centres and breeders, we decided it was time to give a loving home to two German Shepherds who were in need of re-homing due to their own particular set of circumstances.
Rihanna (pictured on the right) arrived in November 2012, is four years old and an ex-show dog although you would not believe this due to her fascination with mud, water and anything that involves getting dirty!! She is great off the leash but still shows nervousness with other dogs when she is leashed through barking. This is still being worked upon.
Saxon arrived in February 2013, is seven years old and leaving a less than happy life behind him. On arrival at the GSD rescue centre his claws had to be cut back half an inch due to lack of excersice, a kink in his spine, muscle wastage in his hind quarters and not knowing what play invloved. Saxon is now well on his way to recovery and with Rihanna taking the lead, she is teaching him all the things he previously missed out on - playing with balls, wading through puddles and laying in mud!!
Both Rihanna and Saxon are loving family members and have brought a great deal of joy and laughter to our house, they are both really great with children and adults and will happily stop for a cuddle from willing participants. As can be seen from the picture maybe Rihanna and Saxon were destined to meet.
