Hi guys, just a wee note to say how I'm doing at my new home.
Well, I've been here about seven months now and I'm loving it. We're in a semi-rural setting and there are so many fantastic places to go for our daily walks. There's a glen with a river running through it which is brilliant to have a swim in and there's quite a few woodland walks too but I sometimes have to stay on lead if there's lots of squirrels about (???). My absolute favourite though is when we go down to the beaches and I get to run for what seems like miles when the tide's out.
On a more serious note though, I've been having training sessions with a local dog trainer lady who is helping me learn good doggy manners. I've also been visiting another trainer who runs group sessions at the weekends where there are about twenty dogs at the same time. There's nearly half of them German Shepherds like me! Who knew there were so many of us?
Since being at my new home, I've also made friends with lots of other dogs and have quite a few new besties. My favourites are Max (a black Lab Collie mix), Corrie (Golden Lab), Oscar & Wilde (two Spaniels) but Jeez Louise, Oscar never stops barking! There's also Scout (a GSD Husky mix), Hollie (a Westie) and Cora (a German Shephard like me) but there's lots more I see from day to day when we're out for our walks.
My new people also took me to the German Shepherd Rescue Scotland annual show at Vogrie Park. Wow, so many dogs and most of them sheppies like me! I took part in a couple of classes. We didn't win anything but it was fun all the same. Best of all, I got to see auntie Liz again who brought me to my new home. Can't wait for next year's show to come around!
Anyway, just want to let you all know how I was getting on.
Best,
Lexi ?
