Max is a friendly and enthusiastic short-coated 6-year-old black and tan boy. He has had little formal training but does know basic commands, although he is prone to forget them when excited. He will pull on the lead at the start of the walk, and if something particularly catches his interest, but otherwise walks quite nicely.
Max has been with his current owner since he was 6 months old but came from a friend, so his owner has known him from a puppy. He had allergy problems as an adolescent but after treatment there has been no recurrence in the last 5 years.
He is not neutered so new owners would need to commit to getting this done once he is fully settled in his new home.
Max is house trained; he sleeps happily in the kitchen overnight. He is fine with being left for short periods and does not damage the house, or bark. He is good going out in the car.
Max has not lived with children but has been OK with visitors. He could knock over small people when excited so new home residents would need to be teenagers and above.
He is not possessive over food or toys. Max has not had the opportunity for much interaction with other dogs, he shows no fear or aggression but will try to pull towards them on a walk. He can be distracted by being offered a game with a tug toy.
Max is a much-loved pet who is being reluctantly re-homed because of a change in family circumstances.
